The Bristol M.1 was a British fighter plane with a wooden structure with a fixed undercarriage from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single engine Le Rhone 9J with power 90 KM. The prototype flight took place in 1916. During serial production, which lasted only in 1917, about 130 copies of this aircraft were made. The armament was two 7.7 mm Vickers machine guns. Bristol M.1 was created as a proprietary initiative of aviation plants British and Colonial Airplane Co., which puts special emphasis on the highest possible speed of the aircraft and its aerodynamic refinement. Despite its good performance, the Royal Flying Corps was originally not interested in the aircraft. Only after the introduction of improvements and the development of the M.1 B and M.1 C versions, the British Air Force decided to purchase about 130 copies of this machine. The planes, however, were directed to operate in secondary theaters of hostilities: Palestine, Mesopotamia and Macedonia. After the end of World War I, several aircraft Bristol M.1 sold to Chile.
