OL 49 POLSKI PAROWÓZ OSOBOWY Z 1949 R.

Ol49 is a series of steam locomotives (steam locomotives) that were produced in the period 1951-1954 by the Fablok plant in Chrzanów. The length of a single locomotive with a tender was 20.68 meters, and the service weight - 144.9 tons. The diameter of the driving wheels was 1750 mm, and the locomotive had 1'C1 'axles. A total of 116 units of this type of locomotive were produced. The Ol49 steam locomotives were designed to replace the pre-war Ok1 and Ok22 locomotives. They were to be used to haul trains and to handle light fast trains. They were characterized by a large supply of water and coal. Interestingly, some of the units in the course of operation have been adapted to use mazout. Locomotives of this type had a decent top speed of 100 km / h, as well as very smooth running on a good track. Preferably, a boiler with high efficiency has also been selected. Interestingly, out of the total production, 4 Ol49 locomotives were exported to North Korea. About 40 locomotives of this type have survived to date.
