BAT-M (Object 405) is a Soviet Cold War high-speed bulldozer. The drive is a 12-cylinder W-401 or A-401G engine with a capacity of 415 HP. The weight of the vehicle is 27.5 tons, and the crew consists of two people. The vehicle had no fixed armament as standard. The maximum speed of the vehicle on the paved road is up to 35 km / h, and off-road to 15-18 km / h. The BAT-M was constructed on the basis of a highly modified fuselage tub of the T-55 tank. It also has a sealed pressurized cabin with a filter, which allowed it to work even in radioactively contaminated areas. The engine is placed in the front part of the car and the pressure on the ground is as low as possible, thanks to which the BAT-M can operate on snow, wetlands or the so-called light soils. The car also has a relatively rich engineering and sapper equipment. It has, among others: a 5-meter-wide blade with height adjustment, a winch or a remote-controlled crane with a lifting capacity of up to 2 tons.
