MA7-2010 FRANCUSKI SAMOLOT SNCASO SO.9000 TRIDENT

The SNCASO SO.9000 Trident was a prototype French Cold War fighter. The flight of the prototype took place in 1953, but the machine did not enter serial production - only a dozen or so prototypes and pre-series were produced. The propulsion was provided - in the basic version - by as many as three engines: a single SEPR 481 rocket engine and two Turbomeca Marbore turbojet engines. SNCASO Trident was created in connection with the desire to create in France, primarily the domestic aviation industry, a supersonic fighter plane. During the tests, three main versions of the aircraft were created. The first is the SO.9000 Trident I, two prototypes were built, one of which crashed during the tests. The second is SO.9050 Trident II - a total of 13 examples of this aircraft were built and had different power units than the previous version. Finally, the latest version is the SO.9050 Trident III, which was only made of three and was powered by upgraded engines from the Trident II version. Despite the very good performance of this type of machines, which was confirmed by the achievement of several world aviation records, it was not decided to put them into production because of very high costs.
