TOPAS-2AP was a Polish tracked armored transport from the Cold War period. The vehicle was powered by a single 300hp PW-6 diesel engine. It was armed with two machine guns: the 14.5 mm KPWT and the 7.62 mm PKT. TOPAS-2AP was created as a far-reaching development of the Czechoslovak production car called TOPAS, which was produced since 1962 and itself was a development of the Soviet BTR-50 car. The Polish TOPAS-2AP was designed and tested in 1968-1974 at the Military University of Technology. The changes compared to the original concerned the installation of the BRDM-2 turret, as well as the deep reconstruction of the landing compartment. It is worth noting that these types of vehicles were produced in two versions: intended for the transport of a mortar platoon and an infantry platoon. TOPAS-2AP transporters served in the 7th Lusatia Landing Division, renamed in 1986 into the 7th Coastal Defense Brigade. The cars were decommissioned in 1994.
