Kfz.13 was a German reconnaissance armored car from the Second World War. The first prototypes were built in the early 1930s, and serial production was carried out in the period 1932-1934. In total, about 170-180 copies of this vehicle were built. Kfz.13 was powered by an engine Adler Standard with a power of 60 HP. The basic version of the vehicle was armed with a single 7.92 mm MG13 or MG34 machine gun. Kfz.13 was the first Reichswery armored car, put into service after the end of World War I. Daimler-Benz plants were responsible for its production. The Kfz.13 was based on the chassis of the Adler civilian car. The cars had thin armor, only 8 mm thick, and a completely unprotected top of the crew compartment. Relatively quickly, it was forced out of the line by much more successful vehicles from the Sd.Kfz.221 / 222/223 series. The Kfz.13 armored car took part in the campaigns in Poland (1939) and France (1940), but in 1941 almost all of this type of vehicles were intended for training purposes.
