The Fokker D.II is a German biplane fighter designed and put into service in 1916. The Fokker D.II was characterized by a mixed structure: wood and canvas, with the hull formed by a metal frame covered with linen. It was a German response to the Allied Nieuport 11 machines. It was powered by a 100HP Oberursel UI rotary engine. From the summer of 1916, the Fokker D.II began to be part of the specialized fighter squadrons (Jasta). D.II was not a very successful design, it was characterized by not the best maximum speed and climb time. For these reasons, it was quickly replaced by the Fokkers D.III and Albatroses DI. 132 copies were made during the war. Technical data: Maximum speed: 150 km / h, rate of climb: 4.17 m / s, maximum ceiling 4000 m, maximum range: 200 km, armament: fixed - 1 MG08 7.92mm machine gun.
