However, at some point, the branch of this company responsible for the construction of construction machinery and road vehicles was taken over by the Japanese concern Komatsu Ltd., which resulted in the renaming of all vehicles produced by this company so far. This acquisition was part of Komatsu's pursuit of a market strategy to compete with the American company Caterpillar. The Komatsu 830E truck is designed to transport excavated material from large open-cast mines. On world markets, this vehicle competes with the Liebherr T282C and - especially! - Caterpillar 797B.
