Sd.Anh.116 is a German 4-axle trailer from World War II. The semi-trailer was put into service in the Wehrmacht in December 1940 and remained in it until the end of the war. It was 14.4 m long and 3 m wide, and it could transport vehicles up to 6.5 meters long, but the construction of the tow truck also made it possible to transport longer vehicles in exceptional situations. Sd.Anh.116 was developed as a heavy trailer, designed to transport armored vehicles (especially tanks) weighing up to 22-23 tons. Later, the allowable limit was raised to 26 tons. The Sd.Anh.116 tow truck was characterized by an unusual design because its transport part was in fact suspended from two bogies, the second of which was driven by the driver of the same bogie. Loading and unloading was possible only with the rear trolley disconnected. It is worth adding that the half-track Sd. Kfz. 8 or Sd. Kfz. 9.
