AUTOSAN H9-21 - PKS W OŁAWIE

Autosan H9 is the name of a family of Polish, two-axle Midi buses. The family's buses were first presented to the public in 1968, and series production started in 1973 and lasted until 2006. Sanocka Fabryka Autobusów based in Sanok was responsible for the production. The curb weight of the bus reached 7.7 tons with a total weight of 12.5 tons. The Autosan H9 family was developed to replace the San H100 bus, and the first work on the new vehicle was initiated in 1967. It was assumed that the new car would be more technologically advanced than its predecessor, would have an engine behind the rear axle, and would provide passengers with significantly greater travel comfort. The new bus was to be dedicated primarily to local and intercity connections. It was also planned to create an urban version, but the idea was finally abandoned. Buses of this series are characterized primarily by economical and easy-to-repair drive units. The disadvantages include poor protection of the bodywork against corrosion and problems with the electrical system at low temperatures. Autosan H9 buses were exported to many countries, including Angola, Cyprus, Egypt, Ghana and Lithuania.
