Thomas-More S.5 was an American seaplane in the biplane configuration with a fixed-float landing gear from the First World War and the interwar period. The drive was provided by a single Le Rhone engine with 90 HP or a Gnome Monosoupape with 100 HP. The length of the aircraft was 6.06 meters with a wingspan of 8.07 meters. The maximum speed was around 160 km / h. The optional on-board armament was a single 7.7mm Lewis machine gun. The Thomas-More S.5 was developed as a development version and a far-reaching modification of the Thomas-Morse S4C aircraft. The main change was to strengthen the structure of the fuselage and lower wing and the use of a float undercarriage (instead of a wheeled one). Airplanes of this type did not take part in combat operations during World War I, although the manufacturer offered them to the US Navy and the US Air Force. After 1918, Thomas-More S.5 aircraft were offered primarily on the civilian market.
