The T-12 is a Soviet prototype tank from the interwar period. The first prototype of this car was built in 1929, but the vehicle did not enter serial production. The weight of the car was 19.8 tons. The drive was provided by a single M-6 engine with a capacity of 200 HP. It was armed with a single wz. 1930 45 mm caliber and - most likely - one 7.62 mm machine gun. Work on a new tank for the Red Army began at the turn of 1927/1928 and was to lead to the creation of the so-called a maneuvering tank, with the highest possible maximum speed, good maneuverability, but capable of fighting enemy tanks. The T-12 prototype, although it was characterized by many innovative solutions and generally turned out to be a rather innovative design in the USSR, was plagued by numerous problems. First of all, the car was technically underdeveloped and caused considerable problems in operation. In the course of field tests, it also turned out that its range is too short, the top speed in the field is low, and its engine and gearbox are highly emergency. Finally, the vehicle did not enter mass production, and the T-24 tank was developed on its basis.
