Udarnyj was a Soviet monitor under which the keel was laid in 1930, the launch took place in 1932, and the entry into service took place in 1934. The total length of the ship was 53.6 meters and a width of 11.1 meters. Full displacement reached approx. 390 tons, and the maximum speed did not exceed 12-13 knots. After the ship's modernization in 1939, she was armed with 2 130 mm cannons, 4 45 mm cannons and four quadruple 7.62 mm machine guns. Udarnyj was, in a way, a unique ship. It was the first really large ship intended for river navigation, built in the USSR after 1918. At the same time, it was a unit which was designed to use many technical innovations, especially the latest types of artillery weapons. Upon entering service, the ship was part of the Dnieper Flotilla, and later of the Danube Flotilla. It is worth adding that in 1939 Udarnyj underwent modernization, which involved the replacement of medium artillery from 37 mm guns with 45 mm caliber guns. When the German-Soviet war began in June 1941, Udarnyj operated in the Danube Flotilla, and later broke through to Odessa, where it underwent renovation works. Then she was directed to the Boh River, and the ship sank on September 19, 1941 as a result of an air attack.
