Centaur II is a modern Polish port and coastal tug, which was built in the Gdańsk Shipyard "Remontowa". The unit was launched in 2007 and is still in service. The overall length of the vessel is 30.3 meters with a maximum width of 9.8 meters. The maximum speed is around 13.5 knots. The crew consists of only 5-8 people! The main tasks that the Centaur II can perform are, of course, towing, but also piloting, firefighting or broadly understood tasks accompanying the service of large ships in ports. The unit can operate in the so-called average ice conditions. It is worth adding that it has effective winches and winches, as well as an efficient fire extinguishing system. The unit is also relatively highly automated, and almost all equipment on board can be operated from the wheelhouse.
