The town hall in Tarnowskie Góry (Śląskie Voivodeship) was erected at the end of the 19th century - the beginning of its construction dates back to 1896, and the completion of construction took place two years later. The designer of the town hall was the architect Herman Guth. The town hall in Tarnowskie Góry was erected on the site of the old and declining district court building, and the plot on which it was erected was purchased by the municipal magistrate shortly before the start of construction. The new building was erected in a neo-gothic style, with some neo-renaissance elements. The town hall was a three-story structure with a facade that was originally lined with clinker bricks. For its construction, granite, sand and bricks were used. Many coats of arms were incorporated into the façade of the town hall, including the city of Tarnowskie Góry, but also the Second German Reich, the Kingdom of Prussia and the Hohenzollern family. Coats of arms associated with "German" were retouched or removed in the course of the 20th century, or - during the occupation during World War II - partially restored in the form of copies. This architecturally great town hall, however, survived the historical storms of the 20th century and has survived happily to this day.
