POLISH MODERN POLICECAR HYDROMIL II

Hydromil II was and still is a Polish police fighting vehicle. Vehicle prototypes were created in the 1980s, and serial production started at the end of the communist regime in Poland. The car was 8.76 meters long and 2.53 meters wide. The maximum speed of the empty car reached 90 km / h. Hydromil II was developed at the FSS SHL plant in Kielce as a successor to the Hydromil I car. Its main task was to suppress demonstrations or riots using the so-called non-killing weapons, i.e. water cannons. The new car was developed based on many components of the Jelcz P-420 truck. The role of the water chiller was played by the engine transferred from the GAZ-24 car. As armament, it had two water cannons on the roof of the cabin and two water jets located under the front bumper. The car was equipped to operate in winter conditions. There was also a modernized version (designation: Hydromil II M) in which the working conditions of the crew were improved and a much more efficient water chiller was used. Vehicles in this version are still used by the Polish Police.
