The Curtiss N-9 is an American, WW1 biplane, single-engine training seaplane, a modification of the JN-4 "Jenny" aircraft. The modification consisted in installing a large float under the fuselage and two smaller ones under the wings. These airplanes, similarly to the JN-4, were used for instructing pilots for the Navy. The N-9 was also used on cruisers and other large naval units where they were fired with catapults as reconnaissance aircraft. Three versions of this aircraft were created: N-9, N-9N and N-9C, which differed from each other mainly in engines. A total of about 560 machines of all versions were produced. Specifications: length: 9.39m, wingspan: 16.25m, height: 3.32m, maximum speed: 126km / h, climb speed: 1.65m / s, maximum ceiling 2000m.
