CHINSKI KUTER RAKIETOWY TYP 037 IG (KLASA HOUXIN)

The Type 037IG or the Houxin class is the term used to describe a class of Chinese rocket corvettes from the modern era. Units of this type were launched in 1991-1999, a total of 26 corvettes of this class were created, of which 20 are used in the PRC fleet, and 6 - in the Myanmar fleet. The total length of a single ship is 62.8 meters and a width of 7.2 meters. The displacement is around 500 tons and the maximum speed is around 28 knots. The armament consists of 4 single water-to-water rocket launchers, 4 37mm cannons and 4 14.5mm machine guns. Type 037IG units were built mainly in the shipyards in Qiuxing and Huangpu. They are an evolutionary development of the 037 type units, while the units of both types differ mainly in their armament and on-board electronics. The Houxin-class ships are intended primarily for destroying surface targets, which has just been reflected in the armament of these units. Their main weapons are the C-801/802/803 rockets. They are still units with little autonomy, limited range of operation, but also with a high firepower in relation to their displacement or size. All class units built Houxin are still in service.
