The TV Tower Hamburg (official name: Heinrich Hertz Turm) is a radio and television tower located in the city of Hamburg in northwest Germany. Its height is 279.2 meters, and the construction took place in 1965-1968. The chief architect of Heinrich Hertz Turm was Fritz Trautwein, but he had at least a few very talented engineers to help, most notably Jörg Schlaich and Fritz Leonhardt. The original owner of the facility was Deutsche Bundespost, which later became Deutsche Telekom. Tower Heinrich Hertz Turm has been Hamburg's highest architectural landmark since its completion, and is one of the city's major tourist attractions. The facility was made of concrete and reinforced concrete. It consists of three parts: the first (lower part) is about 205 m high and made of reinforced concrete, the second is a kind of "cylinder" on which there are currently telecommunications antennas, and finally the third element is a tower made mainly of steel at the very top buildings. It is worth adding that there is a viewing platform and a restaurant in the tower.
