The UAZ-469 off-road vehicle was developed in the late 1960s. Serial production started in 1972 and lasted continuously until 2007! In 2010, it was restarted at the Ulianovsk plant. The UAZ-469 was powered by a single R4 engine with a capacity of 70 hp and a capacity of 2.4 liters. It also had a 4-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive (4x4). The UAZ-469 off-road vehicle was created as the successor to the GAZ-69. Compared to its predecessor, it was characterized above all by a more powerful engine, better suspension, while maintaining the same high level of reliability of the entire structure. Due to these design qualities, the UAZ-469 was used not only by units of the Soviet Army or the Warsaw Pact troops, but also by numerous uniformed services of communist countries during the Cold War. UAZ-469 also took part in almost every armed conflict after 1970 - most notably the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989). The resumption of production in 2010 - also for the civilian market - is a good testimony to the quality of the structure dating back to the end of the 1960s!
