The Yakovlev Yak-15 is a Soviet fighter jet with a metal structure in a medium wing configuration. The flight took place on April 24, 1946, and serial production continued in the years 1946-1947. The plane was powered by the RD-10 engine, which was a faithful copy of the captured German Junkers Jumo 004. The Yak-15 had a redan structure, i.e. the engine was placed on the nose of the plane with the outlet nozzle under the fuselage. Several versions of the aircraft were created and entered production under the designations Jak-17 and Jak-21, differing quite significantly from the original. In total, around 280 Yak-15 aircraft were built.
