The ZIS-6 is a Soviet universal truck from the interwar period and World War II. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in 1933, and serial production was carried out in 1933-1941 in plants in Moscow. Approximately 21,000 trucks of this type were built in its course. The vehicle was powered by a 73 HP 6-cylinder ZIS engine. The ZIS-6 was a development of the successful ZIS-5 truck. The main modification consisted in increasing the number of axles from two to three and - naturally - adding an additional pair of road wheels. Compared to the original ZIS-6, it also differed in dimensions and a reinforced chassis. The car was also characterized by an increased load capacity on the road (up to 4 tons). In the Red Army, trucks of this type were used for a wide variety of tasks: from transporting people and light equipment to specialized tasks. Many specialized cars were created on the ZIS-6 chassis, such as the technical security car. One of the main specialized versions was a vehicle adapted to use the Katyusha unguided missile launcher.
