The Toleman TG183 is a British Formula 1 car that made its circuit debut at the 1982 Italian Grand Prix and has competed in F1 races only this season. In the 1983-1984 seasons it was replaced by its improved variant - the TG183B model. Its designer was Rory Byrne. The Toleman TG183 was powered by a single Hart 415T engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters. The Toleman TG183B was developed due to restrictions imposed by the Formula 1 racing commission in 1983, which banned the use of the ground effect. The car was a development of the previous season's vehicle, the TG183. It differed from it in aerodynamics, but it used the same engine, suspension and had an almost identical body. It was also based on a monocoque self-supporting body. Both versions of the vehicle (TG183 and TG183B) took part in a total of more than 20 Grand Prix races, but did not win any of them.
