Ursus A is a family of Polish trucks and buses from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes were presented at the turn of 1927-1928, and serial production was carried out in the period 1928-1931. The producer was Zakłady Mechaniczne Ursus, and production took place in Czechowice near Warsaw. It is estimated that the total production was around 900-1200 both civilian and military vehicles. A single engine with a capacity of 2.9 liters and a maximum power of 35 HP served as the drive. The Ursus A family of vehicles included several vehicles. The basic one was a military truck marked Ursus A, A30 and AW. It was characterized by the skeleton of the passenger cabin and the transport box made of wood and the frame made of steel sheet. The car was characterized by good off-road characteristics and a solid structure. Ursus AT, a 3-axle version of the military truck, was also built. The next development version was the Ursus AW, i.e. a vehicle with an extended and reinforced chassis in relation to the A and AT models, on which a bus body was mounted, enabling the transport of up to 22 people. However, the concept of creating a passenger car remained only in the plans.
