The Bn2t Hutnik locomotive was developed at the Fablok plant in Chrzanów on the order of Huta "Jedność” from Siemianowice Śląskie. Work on the locomotive began in 1956, and in the same year production began, which lasted until 1958, ending with the production of about 10 rail vehicles of this type. The main problem when designing the Bn2t Hutnik was, on the one hand, that the locomotive had to be adapted to run on 630 mm wide rails, and on the other hand, it had to be relatively low. The client specified the maximum height of the locomotive at 220 centimeters. However, the Fablok plant managed to cope with the task and the Bn2t Hutnik steam locomotives produced were used until 1991. One of the then withdrawn steam locomotives is now on display at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Sochaczew, and the other one is located in front of the railway station in the city of Tłuszcz.
