The SU-101 was a prototype Soviet tank destroyer from the Second World War. The first prototypes were built in May 1945, but the car never entered mass production. The SU-101 was powered by a single engine the V-2-44 diesel engine with a power of 500 hp. The original version of the vehicle was armed with a single 100mm D-10S tank gun and a single 12.7mm DSzK machine gun. The SU-101 was planned as a successor to another Soviet tank destroyer, the SU-100. The Uralmash plant was to be responsible for the design work and possible production. The chassis of the T-44 tank was used in the new vehicle, and the combat compartment with the main armament was moved to the rear of the vehicle, which was a novelty compared to the SU-100 or SU-122. The vehicle also had good armor on the front of the casemate and the hull, high mobility and a relatively low silhouette, which greatly facilitated masking in the field. Despite the positive opinions that the SU-101 obtained during factory and field tests, the car was not put into mass production.
