Delft was a Dutch class IV battleship from the end of the 18th century. The unit was ordered in 1781 or 1782, and it was accepted for service in May 1783. Delft was constructed in a shipyard De Hoog - De Wit in Delfshaven, which is now a district of Rotterdam. The on-board armament consisted of a total of 56 guns. The Delft battleship was constructed for the Dutch fleet, and more specifically for the fleet of the United Provinces, and it underwent its baptism of fire in 1787 during the struggle with Berber pirates in the Mediterranean Sea. The unit also carried out similar tasks in 1793. Two years later (1795), the Republic of the United Provinces was transformed into the Batavian Republic, and the Delft ship was included in the country's fleet. As early as October 1797, Delft took part in the Naval Battle of Camperdown, in which he suffered significant damage, but also in which his crew became famous for their great bravery. As a result of the damage, Delft sank four days after the battle.
