Ключевые слова #CURTISS-WRIGHT #AT-9
The Curtiss-Wright AT-9 was an American training and training aircraft from the Second World War. The machine was a low wing aircraft with a classic retractable undercarriage. The prototype flight took place in 1941. Serial production continued in the years 1941-1943. Approximately 790 aircraft of this type were built in its course. The drive was provided by two motors Lycoming R-680-9 with 295 HP each. Curtiss-Wright AT-9 was developed and put into production in accordance with the requirements of the US Air Force for a new advanced training aircraft intended for training future pilots of multi-engine machines - especially P-38 Lightning and B-26 Marauder. In connection with the set goals, it was consciously assumed that the AT-9 will not be a very easy-to-pilot machine and will not be characterized by some instability in flight, so as to reflect any problems in flying the P-38 or B-26 as accurately as possible. Efforts were also made to make the machine as cheap as possible to produce and to use relatively few metal parts. Two main versions of the aircraft were developed in the course of production: AT-9 (basic version) and AT-9T (version with other engines and improved hydraulics). The only user of these planes was the US Air Force.
