The Yakovlev Yak-21 is a Soviet prototype training and training aircraft from the Cold War period. The prototype flight took place in 1946 or 1947, but the machine never entered mass production. The length of the machine is 8.78 meters with a wingspan of 9.2 meters. The maximum speed was about 720 km / h, and the maximum ceiling was about 10,000 meters. The Yak-21 aircraft was developed as, in essence, a modernized version of the Yak-15 jet fighter. The new machine retained many elements of its predecessor - it differed primarily in the lack of weapons and a two-person cabin. Of course, the new plane was to be used for advanced training for future Yak-15 pilots, and it was undoubtedly suited to this role at least well. Its good aerodynamic properties were also confirmed by the first test flights. However, the entire project was canceled in favor of the Yak-17UTI, which, by the way, was also based on the Yak-15. It is assumed that probably only one copy of the Jakowlew Jak-21 aircraft was manufactured.
