A police car is a unified emergency vehicle used by the police and uses light and sound warning systems. Since marking their cars after 2004, the Polish police use blue stickers with white inscriptions, and the color of police cars is usually silver. At the beginning of 2018, there were about 21,500 police cars of various types in the Polish police, including: passenger cars, off-road vehicles, vans, trucks, but also buses (96) or specialized vehicles (approx. 450 pieces). Among passenger cars, Kia Cee'd, Kia Venga and Opel cars (especially the Astra, Vectra and Insignia models) were most often used. The most frequently used vans were Fiat Ducato and Fiat Doblo, but also various models of the Volkswagen brand, for example: Transporter, Crafter or Caddy. It is also worth adding that for several years there has been a special unit in the Polish police called "SPEED" designed to prosecute road pirates on highways. It is equipped primarily with Kia Stinger GT cars (with an engine power of 366 HP) and BMW 3 Series cars specially adapted to the service.
