Flakscheinwerfer 36 is a German anti-aircraft searchlight from the Second World War. The range of light projected by this reflector for a plane flying at an altitude of 1,500 meters was from 3 to 5 kilometers. The apparatus was powered by an 8 kW generator. The diameter of the reflector mirror was 60 centimeters. The searchlight crew consisted of three people. The Flakscheinwerfer 36 was one of the most widely used German anti-aircraft searchlights during World War II. The light was provided by an electric arc, and the reflector could cast both diffuse and focused light. The Sd.Anh.51 semi-trailer was used to transport the reflector. The relatively small range of the Flakscheinwerfer 36 meant that it was most often used together with light anti-aircraft guns such as the FlaK 30 or FlaK 38. Searchlights of this type were used until the very end of the war.The German SW-36 searchlight was used by anti-aircraft defense together with 20mm and 37mm cannons. It was also mounted on the Sd.Kfz.251 / 20 Ausf. D. It had a diameter of 60 cm and a range of 2 km vertically and 1.5 km horizontally.
