S-7 is the name of a class of German torpedo chasers (German: Schnellboot S 7), the first units of which were built in 1933. A single ship of this type was 32.4 meters long with a width of about 5.1 meters. The top speed was around 36-37 knots, and the drive was provided by 3 MAN L7 diesel engines with 1,320 hp each. The armament consisted of: 2 single 533 mm torpedo tubes and a single 20 mm anti-aircraft gun. Units of this type were largely based on the solutions used in the S 2 series torpedo speeders, with efforts to improve their seaworthiness and speed. However, they were still small ships, with high maximum speed, intended to operate by surprise with very limited possibilities of self-defense. There is information that three units of this type were sold to China.
