Steregushiy (Project 20380) is the name of a class of Russian missile corvettes that have entered service with the Russian Navy (hereinafter: MW) since 2008. A single ship of this type is 104.5 meters long, with a maximum width of 13 meters. Full displacement is 2,200 tons, and the maximum speed is around 27-28 knots. The armament consisted of: a single 100mm A-190 cannon or a 130mm A-192 cannon, a single CIWS Kasztan-S set, 2 quadruple SS-N-25 rocket launchers or 12 vertical launchers (VLS ) of the Redut type. The Project 20380 corvettes were designed by the St. Petersburg-based Almaz design office to replace Grisha type units in the line (Project 1124). Compared to their predecessors, they are much larger, have much richer electronic equipment, and are also much better armed. It can also be stated that they are much more universal ships with considerable - in relation to their dimensions and displacement - possibilities of fighting air, underwater and surface targets. Project 20380 units were and are built with the intention of operating in coastal waters and carrying out patrol, escort and ZOP (anti-submarine warfare) tasks. By the end of 2021, 9 or 10 units of this type had been launched, and a further 4 were under construction or were planned to be built.
