USS Oregon City (CA-122) was an American heavy cruiser, the keel of which was laid in April 1944, launched in June 1945, and was finally completed in February 1946. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 205.3 m, width 21.6 m, with a displacement of approximately 13,700 tons. The maximum speed was up to 33 knots. The armament of the unit at the time of launching mainly consisted of: 9 203 mm guns, 12 127 mm guns and 48 40 mm AA guns. The ship could also carry out air operations using 4 seaplanes. USS Oregon City (CA-122) was the first of four class cruisers of the same name to be built, the Oregon City. Units of this type were essentially a slightly modernized Baltimore-class cruisers, and differed from them in a different construction of superstructures, slightly different anti-aircraft armament and layout of the rooms. In general, however, both types of cruisers had very similar capabilities and properties. USS Oregon City (CA-122) was built at Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation's Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, Massachusetts. The unit remained in the line for a very short time - it entered it in 1946, and was withdrawn from it in December 1947. It was scrapped in 1973.
