Locomotive Malcom Moore Eng. is the collective name for a series of narrow-gauge diesel locomotives that were produced during World War II at Malcom Moore Engineering, based in Sydney. The locomotive was 3.53 meters long and 1.75 meters wide. The drive was provided by a single 8-cylinder engine manufactured under license from Ford. Most of the locomotives of this type were adapted to a wheelbase of 610 mm. In total, about 90 locomotives of this type were built. Locomotive Malcom Moore Eng. was developed and was produced for the needs of the Australian Armed Forces, which, at the outbreak of World War II, sought to obtain a narrow-gauge locomotive designed to handle cargo traffic in naval ports or in military bases. The new locomotive was to be small, easy to use and powerful. Ultimately, these types of locomotives met the expectations and turned out to be very useful. After 1945, the surviving locomotives were transferred to the civil sector, where they were used primarily in industry and plantations.
