The PWS-3 was a Polish prototype sports and liaison plane with a wooden structure, in a high-wing configuration with a fixed landing gear, from the interwar period. The drive in the PWS-3B version was provided by a single Walter NZ-60 engine with a capacity of 60-65 HP. The first flight of this machine took place in 1927, but the plane did not enter mass production. PWS-3 was the first sports plane designed and built entirely from scratch by the Polish aviation industry after regaining independence in 1918. Its creator was Eng. Stanisław Cywiński. In the period 1927-1928, the plane took part in aviation competitions with some successes. It was also considered at that time as a potential new military aviation service and observation aircraft. However, in the end, probably after the first tests, it did not arouse further interest of the military. The machine never entered mass production, and in 1933 the fuselage of one of the prototypes went to the Museum of Industry and Technology in Warsaw.
