Pafawag 3E (another designation: series E06 or series ET21) is a series of standard-gauge electric locomotives, which was produced in the years 1957-1971 at the Pafawag plant in Wrocław. The service weight of a single locomotive is 114-121 tons, and its length with buffers - 16.82 m. The average of the wheels is 1250 mm, with the Co'Co 'axis system. The locomotive of the ET21 series was the first electric locomotive designed and built in Poland after 1945, intended for hauling freight trains. When creating it, electrical components from the Soviet locomotive WŁ22M were used. The Pafawag 3E locomotives were characterized by rather outdated fork-lift wheelsets and the suspension of the traction system, which is more typical for trams. However, they were easy to use, reliable and solid. Despite the fact that from the beginning they were dedicated to freight and industrial trains, PKP also used them to haul passenger trains weighing up to 700 tons. Locomotives of this series began to be withdrawn from the PKP rolling stock at the end of the 1980s.
