Howitzer 15 cm sFH 18 (full name: 15 cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18) is a German, heavy, towed 149.1 mm field howitzer. Design work on this gun began in the 1920s, and the first units entered service in 1933. The 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer was the basic division-level gun used in the German army during World War II. The maximum range of the gun was about 13,300 meters, and the initial velocity of the projectile fired from it was up to 520 m / s. The gun fired various types of missiles, including the Feldhaubitze (FH) Granate (Gr.) 38 or the FH Gr. 39. Of course, they were dominated by high-explosive and high-explosive shells. The average total weight of the projectile was about 43-45 kilograms. It is also worth mentioning that the 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer used missile-assisted missiles marked as 15 cm R. Gr. 19 FES on a small scale, which were able to reach the target at a distance of up to 18,200 meters.
