The Chester Jeep was an American racing plane that first took to the air in 1932. In total, only 1 copy of this machine was made. The plane was 4.6 meters long with a wingspan of about 5.1 meters. The drive was provided by a single Menasco C4-S engine with up to 185 HP. The top speed was around 410 km / h. The Chester Jeep was developed and to some extent built by Art Chester. The aircraft was built in a medium-wing configuration with a classic solid undercarriage. It was distinguished by a very compact structure and, above all, a small hull length. The main purpose of the construction was to take part in an air race organized in the USA called the National Air Races in 1932. The plane also took part in other events of this type after 1932, and went down in the history of aviation, setting a one-time world record for horizontal flight in its class of aircraft. That record was 381 km / h.
