The MBB Bo 105 is a modern German light multi-role helicopter, which was produced by the consortium Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (abbreviated: MBB) . The flight of the prototype took place in 1967, and the machine entered service in 1970. The helicopter - in the Bo 105 CB version - has a fuselage length of 11.86 meters and a rotor diameter of 9.84 meters. The drive is provided by two Allison 250-C20B engines with 420 HP each. The helicopter has a classic layout with a single main rotor and a propeller on the tail boom. The MBB Bo 105 helicopter was developed from 1961, and work on it was to some extent due to the restrictions imposed on the German aviation industry after the end of World War II. In the course of research and development, the aim was to create a universal and possibly light transport machine that would be as easy to use and operate as possible. The greatest possible reliability was also taken into account. The helicopter, when it entered service, turned out to be a revolutionary machine in its own way because it was the first light twin-engine helicopter in the world and probably the first one capable of aerobatics. It was also the first to have a rigid main rotor made of glass fibers. This highly successful and reliable machine was produced in several versions, including: Bo 105 CB (one of the first production versions), Bo 105 CBS (version with an extended hull), Bo 105 M (military transport version) or Bo 105P or PAH-1 (anti-tank gun version). The MBB Bo 105 machine has gained considerable popularity and in various versions has been or is still operated by countries such as: Chile, Spain, South Korea and Uruguay.
