The ZiS-151 is a Soviet universal truck from the post-war period. The first copies of this vehicle appeared shortly after the end of World War II, and serial production continued in the years 1947-1958. The vehicle was powered by a 5.6-liter 6-cylinder 92hp engine. The ZIS-151 was created as a successor to the domestic ZIS-6 trucks used during World War II and the Studebaker vehicles acquired under the Lend-and-Lease program. Compared to - especially - the ZIS-6, the new truck had an engine with a higher maximum power, a revised transmission system, improved reliability and a completely different shape of the engine compartment and the driver's cabin. In the Soviet Army, trucks of this type were used for a wide variety of tasks: from transporting people and light equipment to specialized tasks. Many cars of this type were created on the ZIS-151 chassis, such as a technical security car. One of the main specialized versions was a vehicle adapted to use the Katyusha unguided missile launcher. The BTR-152 armored personnel carrier was also built on the ZIS-151 chassis.
