144-031 COMBATANT CRAFT HEAVY SEALION

The Sealion I and Sealion II are prototype combat boats, presumably with Stealth properties. The length of a single vessel is approx. 19-20 m, width - approx. 4 m, with a mass of approx. 23-24 tons. The maximum speed is over 30 knots. Units of this type were created for American special forces, with particular emphasis on the Navy SEALS. Units of this type are dedicated to rapid relocation of troops in environments with medium and high risk levels. They are able to carry up to 12 operators with the necessary equipment. They can also, to a limited extent, perform patrol tasks in the coastal zone. Testing of both prototypes (Sealion I and Sealion II) began in 2003, and both entered service in 2014. It is assumed that from 2018 work is underway on another version of this type, called Sealion III. Both Sealion I and Sealion II are distinguished by an almost perfectly flat hull and a completely closed and air-conditioned cabin for special forces soldiers. Materials for thermal and acoustic insulation have also been used on a large scale. Both boats are manufactured by Oregon Iron Works Inc.
