The Heinkel P.1079 was a WWII German jet-powered fighter project. The drive - in the P.1079A version - was to be provided by two engines Heinkel HeS 011. The deck armament was to consist of four Mk.108 30mm cannons. The plane has never been tested, much less entered mass production. The Heinkel P.1079 project was developed following an order from the German Ministry of Aviation in early 1945 for a brand new all-weather jet fighter. Three new fighter designs were developed at the Heinkel plant. The first of them (designation: P.1079 A) had a classic arrangement of wings with a slant of 35 degrees and a V-shaped horizontal tail (the so-called butterfly tail or Rudlicki tail). It was primarily planned as a night fighter. However, the second version (P.1079 B) had the so-called gull-shaped wings and was planned as a heavy all-weather fighter. The last version (P.1079 B-2) featured a flying wing system. None of the designed versions has ever been implemented, nor has a prototype been made
