The Pellworm lighthouse was built between 1906-1907 on a small island, now part of Germany, of the same name (ie Pellworm) in the waters of the North Sea. The height of the lighthouse tower is 18 meters, and the building rises about 41 meters above sea level. The skeleton of the building was made of iron and steel, and the lantern itself has the shape of a round tower topped with an originally wooden gallery, covered with a gray roof. The range of its light is 22-23 nautical miles, or about 41-42.5 kilometers. The lighthouse was automated in 1977 and is still active. What's more, due to its height and bright colors (horizontal stripes of white and red), it is a very good landmark. The facility is not open to visitors.
