The Suzuki Wagon R is a Japanese passenger car from the kei-car segment, which was first presented to the public in 1993. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. During its course, the car was manufactured mainly in the city of Kosai, Japan. The Wagon R model was developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of Suzuki Motor Corporation and to strengthen the brand's position in the kei-car segment. It was also one of the first in this segment to offer a tall-car design, a tall body, with almost vertical walls of the passenger compartment and a very short bonnet. The Wagon R model was dedicated primarily to the Japanese market, and the units offered outside their home country are quite distinct from them. Six generations of Suzuki Wagon R were produced in the course of serial production, the last of which was presented in 2017.
