The Suzuki Alto is a Japanese passenger car, originally from the kei-car segment, which was first presented to the general public in 1979. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. During it, the car was manufactured in several cities around the world, including Kosai in Japan, Manesar in India and Karachi in Pakistan. The Alto model was developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of the Suzuki Motor Corporation concern and to strengthen the position of this brand in the kei-car segment. Initially, it was also offered primarily to the Japanese market, but over time it also turned out to be willingly purchased by customers in other markets thanks to its low price, low operating costs and very low fuel consumption. Eight generations of this model were created in the course of serial production. The newest of them was presented in December 2014. Compared to the previous one, it is lighter, lowered - and so low - fuel consumption, especially in city mode, and the range of engines has been narrowed down to one with a capacity of 0.7 liters.
