Dolphin I is a German prototype miniature submarine from the end of World War II. The length of the ship was 5.4 meters and 1.01 meters wide. The maximum underwater speed was around 15 knots, and the surface speed was up to 19 knots. The assumed maximum immersion depth was 30 meters. The first designs of the ship, called Dolphin I, were created at the end of 1944, and the first prototypes were put into testing in January 1945. This miniature submarine was built for the use of the Kriegsmarine, and its main purpose was to carry out torpedo attacks from an underwater position on Allied shipping, especially in the English Channel. When designing it, particular emphasis was placed on achieving the highest possible underwater speed, which has been achieved to a large extent. In total, three prototypes of this ship were built, but none of them survived until the end of the war.Dolphin (Polish dolphin) was a prototype German miniature submarine from the Second World War. The ship was 5.4 meters long with an unladen weight of 2.8 tons. The surface speed was up to 19 knots, and the underwater speed - up to 15 knots. The maximum immersion depth did not exceed 30 meters. The ship was armed with a single torpedo. In total, three prototypes of this type were built. The Dolphin was designed in 1944, but by the end of World War II it did not have time to enter mass production. It was constructed with the intention of carrying out underwater attacks on enemy ships and ships - especially in the area of the English Channel and the North Sea. When designing it, the greatest possible emphasis was placed on achieving high underwater speed. The first prototypes were lost in January 1945 as a result of a collision with a boat, and the other two were rebased in the same year from Berlin to Pötenitz in what is now Schelswig-Holstein, where it was destroyed in the face of the advancing Allied troops. Until now, none of the Dolphin ships that have been built has survived.
