K SWISS WW II ANTI-TANK RIFLE SOLOTHURN S-18/1000 W/WHEELED CARRIAGE

The Solothurn S-18/1000 was a World War II 20mm Swiss rifle / anti-tank gun. The weight of the empty weapon was 53.5 kg, and the initial velocity of the projectile fired from this weapon was about 850 m / s. The Solothurn S-18/1000 was developed as a far-reaching development of the S-18/100 rifle. The main changes concerned the use of more powerful ammunition, an increase in its muzzle velocity, as well as the use of a new type of magazine. Moreover, the S-18/1000 was much larger and heavier than its predecessor. On the one hand, the ballistic parameters of the weapon were improved, but at the same time there were problems related to the greater recoil and weight of the weapon. During World War II, weapons were exported especially to the Netherlands, Italy and Romania. It was also used by the Swiss armed forces. A certain number of these weapons were also found in the arsenal of the Wehrmacht.
