The Victor II-class (or Project 671RT) ships were Soviet nuclear powered fighter submarines (ANNs) that began entering service in 1972. A total of 7 ships of this class were built. A single unit of this type was 100 m long and 10 m wide, with an underwater displacement of up to approx. 5,700 tons. The maximum underwater speed was up to 30-31 knots. The armament consisted of 4 bow 533 mm torpedo tubes and 2 bow 659 mm torpedo tubes. Victor II class submarines (Project 671RT) were created as an evolutionary development of the Victor I class. Compared to their predecessors, they were slightly elongated, and their submarine displacement increased by approximately 10%. They were also able to fire SS-N-15 anti-submarine missiles that could be equipped with a low-power atomic warhead. It is assumed that they were much better soundproofed compared to the Victor I type - this was especially true of their engine room, as well as that they received better electronic equipment. However, they retained the general structural arrangement and the shape of the Albacore hull. They were undoubtedly valuable submarines. They were built by the Admiralty Shipyard in what was then Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg).
