The T-1 class units were American classic diesel-electric training submarines that were launched in 1952-1953. In total, 2 ships of this class were built. A single unit of this type was 40 m long and 4.14 m wide, and the underwater displacement was about 350 tons. The maximum underwater speed was 10-11 knots. The armament consisted of a single 533 mm torpedo tube. Submarines type T-1 were built at the Electric Boat Shipyard in Groton, Connecticut, for the needs of the US Navy (hereinafter: MW). It is very often assumed that they were the smallest operational submarines that were accepted into service with the US Navy in the 20th century! Units of this type were built for experimental as well as training and training purposes. Often, during the exercises, they played the role of small submarines of the Navy of the Soviet Union. The first vessel of this type was sunk as a target ship in 1978, and the second from 1973-1974 serves as a museum ship.
